According to an ARTICLE on ESPN’s web site, the Dallas Stars took what hopefully is the first of many steps by teams to try and win fans back. They cut ticket prices by an average of $11 a seat. It says that they even have some seats for as low as $10. It’s a good start, and bravo to the Stars management for realizing they need to kiss the fans’ butts.
As expected, the Detroit Red Wings announced that Mike Babcock will be their new coach. There was a press conference, but little on what happened or what was said or any pictures (I wanted to get a pic of him with a Wings hat on). All the articles that I could find are the same AP copy, and seem to center more around Bowman and Lewis no longer coaching and whether Yzerman will be back. Sorry Mike, but that’s the way it will be for a while. You are behind the legends.

Again, from what I have read and seen myself, it appears that Babcock is a good fit for the team, given the new roads both the team and league are going down.
