My team, the Philadelphia Freedom, won the inaugural Liberty Cup match versus the Terminus Centurions (based in Atlanta …… Terminus being the original name of the city). We have set up the schedule that we will play each other every year (so long as the league continues) on or around July 4th weekend.
Anyway, my new players did alright. Two had under average performances, but it was enough to win. That’s what is most important. Six games left and I haven’t been eliminated from the playoff hunt. Though it is rather far-fetched that I can make it, I hope to shake the playoff picture up as we go.

My friend David POSTED about Jeremy Roenick’s recent rant. He posted the link where he saw the article on the internet. His reaction to JR’s comments are probably what most felt after reading them. Can’t blame anyone either for feeling that way. The shame of it is that the article only has the ending of JR’s comments where he goes on about fans blaming the players for the lockout. The media should be ashamed at themselves for this. I am too tired and busy with work to continue the search for the rest of his comments. Though I posted a couple of links in the comments section. Had a very good weekend in Detroit. We were there for two reasons. It is probably the last trip we can make to Detroit to see my family before it becomes too uncomfortable for Marcia to travel that far. As it was, she was having a hard time on the trip home. We had to make a few more stops then we usually do, but still made excellent time. But it only proves the point. We still have the trip to Virginia coming up in August, but that is only half as long as Detroit. The second reason was to be there for my nephew Braylen’s first birthday! The day of the party was beautiful. Most of us sat out on the back patio, or under the tent set up in the backyard. Braylen got a TON of presents. Especially toys. (A reminder to those... |
