The top three seeds on both the mens’ and womens’ side advance to the semifinals. Going to make for some good tennis. The men finished their quarterfinal matches this afternoon. Three of the four matches as you can see were in straight sets. Only Andy Roddick had a real battle going. Thanks to Wimbledon.Org and their real-time scoring, I got to check up on the matches throughout the day to see what was happening.
Here are the scores:
Federer d. Gonzalez, 7-5, 6-2, 7-6 (2)
Roddick d. Grosjean, 3-6, 6-2, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3
Hewitt d. Lopez, 7-5, 6-4, 7-6 (2)
Johansson d. Nalbandian, 7-6 (5), 6-2, 6-2

I told ya Grosjean wouldn’t beat Roddick.
I can’t see anybody but Federer winning this year. I hope Roddick wins, but I still think he’s too erratic, although to be fair Grosjean did give him a good game.

Well first of all, I never said that Roddick would lose to Grosjean. I said that he might not make the finals. : ) So that means losing to Johansson in the semis. I have yet to watch Johansson play a match, so I don’t know what he is like. All I do know is that he won the Australia Open back in 2002.
I think if there is anyone that can beat Federer on grass right now it is Hewitt. I really think that their semifinal match is going to be one for the ages.
