Scooter Chronicles

I think I have mentioned before that I am not a big basketball fan, but I gotta give props to my hometown team, the Detroit Pistons. They are going to try and defend their championship against the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals starting Thursday.

Now for the geeky sports fact. This NBA Finals guarantees the continuation of a streak of sorts. Only five teams have won the last 18 NBA Championships. It will be 19 after this playoff season is over.

Los Angeles Lakers (1987, 1988, 2000, 2001, 2002)
Detroit Pistons (1989, 1990, 2004)
Chicago Bulls (1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998)
Houston Rockets (1994, 1995)
San Antonio Spurs (1999, 2003)

Back in last place.

But it was awful close. I played first place Sidney and lost 715-709. Gave them a real run for their money. It was my highest point total of the season. And it is the second week that I can remember that had I played one of 8 different teams, I would have won. But that’s just stupid sports statistics, and it doesn’t really matter anyway.

I continue to enjoy this though, and I like how my team is improving and my decisions are as well on who to play. Just two more weeks until I can use the players from the waiver draft. Because I could use a couple more consistent guys.
