Due to having a very lazy Sunday, I finished “Angel Eyes”, the second book of the “Amos Walker Mysteries” series by Loren D. Estleman. I had only managed enough time to read 68 pages from Thursday to Saturday. But today I finished the remaining 170 pages.

This is the third Amos Walker book I have read, and like the other two, it is a good, quick read. Refresher, Amos Walker is a P.I. in Detroit. Served in Vietnam as an MP, and quit the Detroit Police Academy after returning from the war.

Been drinking Snapple lately. Trying to cut back on Coke and Moutain Dew. So anyway, they have these “Real Facts” under the cap. The one I had this afternoon really caught my attention.

A twit is the technical term for a pregnant goldfish.

Kind of gives new meaning to the Monty Python skit “Upperclass Twit of the Year” doesn’t it.

Supposedly the two Boston based firms that made a pitch earlier to buy all 30 teams comprising the NHL have upped their offer to $4 billion. The original offer was $3.5 billion.

If I was the owners, I would sell. Then they wouldn’t have to worry about this bullshit that we call the National Hockey League and how to get fans back into the seats if the league ever plays again.

There is no progress being made in the talks between owners and the union. All I have heard is that the players have agreed in principal to a salary cap, but the two sides are still a long way apart on what that is and the whole link between revenues. I am getting to the point where I really don’t care. I didn’t even follow the World...
