This afternoon my brother Todd and sister-in-law Angie had both their families over for a Mother’s Day BBQ. The weather was just about perfect. Low 70’s, a bit of a breeze, and nice sunny day. We had the typical BBQ food, but with some twists. Todd and Ang seasoned the chicken and burgers, making them extra tasty. And who can resist a BBQ’d hotdog on a nice summer day? I sure couldn’t …… twice.
After the get-together, Todd and Angie took Marcia, myself, my sister Jenn, and her roomie Cris out on their boat. Again, it was just about a perfect time to do it. Early enough in the boating season on Lake St. Claire that it wasn’t busy. The lake was very calm, too. Other then the fact that it was a bit chilly running at 25 to 30 knots, it was a great way to spend an hour and a half to end the day. We headed out of the marina and headed up to Metro Beach, into an inlet, then turned around and headed back.
It has been a great weekend seeing the family, and former co-workers. Just a lot of fun all around. As much as I hate the drive sometimes, it is weekends like this that make the trip totally worth it. We head back to PA first thing tomorrow morning.
