I used to work for a company in the Detroit area called Forward Planning Corp. After almost 10 years, I had left for a more stable company. FPC (as it was known) had been going through hard times and was losing employees. Eventually they were sold to a competitor, something that they used to try and get me to stay. Of course it didn’t matter either way, since later I moved to Pennsylvania.
About two years ago, on one of my trips back to Detroit to see my family, we planned to get some of us together and have dinner at East Side Mario’s, an Italian place down the street from the office that we used to go after work. So we planned another one tonight....
