As I predicted (sorry to brag), Denver University repeated as National Champs in Men’s Hockey. They defeated North Dakota 4-1.

Denver’s Jeff Drummond and Gabe Gauthier celebrate a goal.

I got to watch the 2nd and 3rd period of the game, which were pretty good. Not terribly exciting. The first period seemed to be the good one, where the teams traded goals going to the locker room with a 1-1 tie. It was close during the second with Denver scoring once, but DU totally took command in the third. Denver was led by Paul Stastny’s two goals....

Before doing some shopping Marcia and I had lunch at a placed called Baja Fresh. It is a Mexican restaurant, but more along the lines of fast food. Like an upscale Taco Bell (which I have always liked). But the place was pretty impressive.

You order your food at a counter, but the dining room is much nicer then a typical fast food joint. They also had outdoor seating, and the option to call ahead for your order. We both got quesadillas (I got steak, Marcia got chicken) and they were both very good. Big portions and the great quality, so for the price it was worth it. “I loved autumn, the one season of the year that God seemed to have put there just for the beauty of it.”

Marcia and I hosted our first Pizza Night in the new place. It went very good considering that we now have more room in the living room and dining room areas then in the condo. Plus we have a nice balcony. So there was plenty of room to spread out. In the condo we were all sitting on each other’s laps.

We were missing a few people, but still had a sizable group attend. We celebrated John’s birthday. Kathleen made a homemade chocolate cake for him. Wow! It was awesome! Then we ended up playing Texas Hold’Em with Marcia’s huge stash of coins.
