Last night, I finished another book (WOW ….. two in three days!!). As you can see the title is a mouthful, but the book was rather cool.

First things first, I can’t help but compare this book to one by Elizabeth Moon called “The Speed of Dark”. The reason is that the lead characters and the style of writing are very similar. Both have a lead character that is autistic, really good with figures, and both want to be astronauts. Also the point of view of each book is first person (though there are a few spots in “The Speed of Dark” that goes to third), and it gives the reader some insight of what might be going through...

We had Pizza Night hosted by one set of Duncan’s, yet at another set of Duncan’s home. Sounds confusing, but it really isn’t. Andy and Yvonne from time to time host Pizza Night at Andy’s parents place.

We had a pretty good time, though unfortunately was a low turn out. It was kind of disappointing since we were celebrating Andy’s brithday (which is actually today). But we played a new game called “Scene It?” that is on DVD and has movie and TV questions. It was pretty cool, though a bit glitchy with giving the same clues and/or questions again.

On Thursday night (yeah, that long ago), I finished “Ship of Magic” by Robin Hobb. This is the first book of the “Liveship Traders” trilogy. I am currently awaiting amazon.com to deliver the other two books.

This book was totally written with trilogy in mind. It ends with all kind of loose ends. But credit to Hobb, she breaks all the story lines off at a good spots. Even those new ones that she created near the end of the book. They are hints of what is to come.

The basis of the story is the Vestrit family. They live in Bingtown, and are one of the famous “Bingtown Trader” families. Essentially the Satrap...
