Ahhh ….. another day, another CD review. ; ) Today it’s “ISDN” by the Future Sound of London. Yes, it’s another electronica project. And yes, it also has a rather minimalistic album cover. You can probably guess where they are from, or at least the country. Though they base themselves in London, England, they are both from Manchester. FSOL (as they are referred to as) are Garry “Gaz” Cobain and Brian Dougans.

It appears that hockey is not going to be played anytime soon after the World Cup. Reports of yesterday’s meeting between NHL owners and the NHLPA is that they are growing farther apart. Each is accusing the other that they had it planned for years to force the lock-out to get the other side to break. I think it’s a bit ridiculous for either side to be saying that in public. Makes them all sound like a bunch of millionaire babies. And yes, I mean BOTH groups.
The biggest thing has been the players refusal to give in to a salary cap. And each of the six proposals that the owners laid out to them were seen as caps by the PA. In some repects they are right (from what I have read). But both sides need to realize that...
