Just started thinking about some of my favorite commercials. One of the guys I work with made a comment that reminded me of one.
Not sure who the commercial is for (funny how that is, isn’t it?), though it had to have been a phone or cellular compnay. The bit mocks a little at the antique experts that tell people what their junk is worth. This guy brings in an old rotarty desk phone and the expert claims that it’s worth as, “Diddly squat.”
There are a couple that I remember from years back. One is really old. That being the “Bo Knows” Nike commercials. I just like the humor factor. After Kirk Gibson says Bo knows baseball, and Jim Everett says that Bo knows football, Michael Jordan...

Had a bit of a relaxing weekend. On the way home from work on Friday, Marica and I stopped by West Coast Video and rented quite a few DVD’s. We got “Big Fish” (which I reviewed earlier), “Enter the Dragon” for me (reviewed one post down), “Drop Dead Fred” starring BBC star Rik Mayall, BBC show “The Office” which turned out to be a bit of a disappointment (the lead character is SO annoying), “Dead Man” starring Johnny Depp (yet to watch), and “Master and Commander” which I forgot to review and was better than I thought it would be, though still not fantastic (I am not a big Russell Crowe fan). First let me say that I am not a martial arts fan, so to speak. I have never taken a class, or have any wish to. But I do respect the arts. What led me to wanting to watch this was seeing a documentary on Bruce Lee’s life while on vacation last week. Being a philosophy major in college, his outlook towards martial arts was very interesting. Seeing old interviews. He was an amazing person. So I decided that it was time for me to see this movie. I am sure it’s a “rite of passage” thing for guys. ; )

Probably the biggest point of this movie was it was the only US studio movie that starred Lee. He of course died shortly...
