The second book I read during vacation was “The Five People You Meet in Heaven” by Mitch Albom.

This is a real departure for me, because I have been only reading science fiction and fantasy since the early 90’s. It is really a novella. Rather short at 196 pages, and rather small. About the size of a paperback, yet with big hardcover text. So why did I read it? Glad you asked. Because of the author, Mitch Albom.

One of the two books I finished while on vacation was “Sea Dragon Heir” by Storm Constantine. This is the first book of “The Chronicles of Magravandias Trilogy”.

The book has a rather gothic nature to it. The Palindrakes, rulers of Caradore (as the title would suggest) used to worship the old sea dragons. Here is “Part Two” of the rundown, day by day.
Day Four - Williamsburg, VA
Headed out early again. Only an hour drive from VA Beach. We stocked up on soda, beer, and snacks since our room had a refrigerator. Then just relaxed until we hit the tavern (Christiana Campbell’s). Dinner was great, but I had to take the stairs up to our table.
Day Five - Williamsburg, VA
Went to Busch Gardens. Had a good time. Especially since I got in free because of my “handicap”. : ) Rented a motorized scooter, so it was easy to get around. Marcia really enjoyed herself. The Sausage Sampler at...

Well, I’m back. Or should I say we. Meaning Marcia and I. Here is “Part One” of the rundown, day by day. I will post some pictures later.
Day One - Dover, DE
We stayed at Dover Downs, as mentioned before. Our hotel room overlooked both race tracks (horse track is inside of the auto racing track). We hit the slots and of course lost everything we played. ; ) But Marcia won $11 on a horse. They weren’t racing at Dover (they run a harness winter season). But they had simulcast. It’s was quite fun. The only disappointment was not being able to go to the hotel best resteraunt. It asked men to wear a jacket, and since I have been in shorts since my operation, I wasn’t...
