The Flyers had made it clear that they were going to make some changes at the end of the season. And not necessarily because of losing to the Lightning in the Easter Conference Finals. The biggest reason was the uncertainty of the CBA, and having a lot of high paid older players. Unfortunately one of those they chose not to sign was Mark Recchi, who lead the team in scoring with 26 goals and 49 assists.

Recchi was on his second tour of duty with the Flyers, having come over in a trade with the Habs. The interesting thing is that the Flyers traded Recchi to Montreal 5 seasons before for Eric Desjardins AND John LeClair. Recchi is keeping with his pattern and...

I saw Dr. Zigmund Strzelecki yesterday about my Achilles tendon. He was the doctor that performed the surgery. Nice Polish name, eh? What is more interesting is that both my Grandfathers are named Zigmund.

Anyway, he took off the original cast and checked things out. He said the incision from the operation is healing wonderfully. And he felt the tendon and checked things out and said everything looks really good. So the prognosis is good. But three more weeks of a new plaster cast. After that, I might get a fiberglass cast for a couple of weeks.

Still not sure when the physical therapy and that will start, but figuring I still have three more weeks of a plaster cast, I wasn’t in a hurry to find out. One thing...
