The owners of the team, Senticore, where having a vote on their webs site to name the team. There were five or six to choose from, and I went with the Cougars, being the original name of the Red Wings, and seeing as there are already two other big cats in town (Lions and Tigers), it would go well. But the majority picked the Gladiators. I am not big on the name, but at least the logo is pretty cool.

As it stands, there appears to be 7 teams ready to roll. On July 17th the teams will hold an NHL free agent draft, meaning that the teams will be allowed to draft the rights to current NHL players, but only those...

I added this heading on the left column, if anyone is interested in what I am reading at the time. It will be a link to the book ordering page at Amazon.Com in case you want to take a look at it yourself. As of this post, I am reading “Absolution Gap” by Alastair Reynolds. Been very interesting so far, and I will be posting my review when I finish.

I am going to be changing the name of my blog and doing my own hosting, thanks to my friend David. The two of us have a few web sites that we keep up to date and run (though he has been doing most of it, due to my “real” work load). But we are going to be switching hosting companies for most of them, and put them under one umbrella. So with his help I will be branching out on my own a bit. The new site will be called The Scooter Chronicles. I have purchased the domain name, but we haven’t set anything up yet. Not in a big hurry though. We still need to buy the hosting package, and get the other web sites moved first.

Well, not really the last stand for mine …….. hopefully. But I have an appointment tomorrow with the doctor that performed the surgery on me. I am led to believe that he will be taking off the big, heavy, uncomfortable, plaster cast tomorrow to inspect the healing process. I will be getting another cast more than likely, but hopefully something light, like fiberglass. Can’t wait, because I have been awful uncomfortable as of late. Have had a lot of trouble sleeping. Maybe seeing how late I am posting this is evidence. I have even skipped some more work because it is just too much work, hassle, and pain to get around. Though I am looking forward to getting back...
