I’m headed out to Glunt Industries in Warren, OH this morning. We are going there to watch over deflection testing on some steel mill equipment that we designed. Glunt was the fabricator of the equipment. They have a very impressive facility, where they do new fabrications and repair work for the steel mill industry.

The frame we designed is holding a guaging roll by Voest-Alpine’s Clacim division. They are based in France and are still run separately after VAI bought them. It is critical that the frame have very little deflection so that they gauging roll works properly. We feel that it will be well within tolerance, and the guys from both Glunt and VAI feel the same, but it still needs to be tested none the less.
